birthdays aren't birthday's without balloons!

You're not mistaken, it hasn't been a month but I decided it's been enough of a blog break for now. Besides I really wanted to share some photos of the 60th birthday party we threw for my mom last night!

My dad and sister took charge of the location and menu so I took my queue and became the decorating queen!

I bought these vases at the dollar store, yup dollar store. With a little painters tape, spray adhesive and gold glitter, fancy vases! My lovely Aunty M put her flower arranging talents to work and created these beautiful bouquets.

Candy, you're never too old for a candy bar!  Again, dollar store containers, glitter and go!
I got super cute valentines boxes for everyone to fill up on their way out. My mom's actual birthday is on February 14th so hearts are inevitable.

I made a last minute decision to order balloons. I am SO glad I did! My mom loved them and they really added that perfect celebratory touch. 50 balloons to decorate the ceiling and it was fabulous!

Inspired by something I saw over here, I put together little packages of "love notes" for all the guests to fill out.

Each card was attached to the heart garland I made with sparkly clothes pegs. I'm going to put the cards along with the photos I took into a book for my mom.
